The parish is requiring a minimum lot size of 10,000 sq. ft, for a building permit, but this lot is only 9,351 square feet. Is there some type of special exception I can get? How do I go about purchasing a strip of land from an adjoining lot?

I have just started building a house. When I picked my lot from the builder, I was told that my lot was 138 DP. It turns out that there is a fence at the 128' mark, so the last 10' of my lot are unusable. This was not told to me before I purchased the lot. Do I have any recourse hear or am I out of luck?
unfortunatly unless this is written on paper you probaly have no legal recourse. Like the settlement papers.

on the front of my house the rooms get very hot. The sunlight hits the areas half the day .I am looking for something to cut down on the sunlight coming through my windows. I really don't want curtains because I have bad allergies and I do not want anymore fabric or dust holding materials. Also I tried blinds but they did very little

I would suggest interior real wood blinds. They cut down on heat because the air between the blind and the window make an excellent insulation barrier. They can be painted or stained. Also they don't hold  dust...

My house has been painted many times over the years and it does not seem to hold up. It mildews up so fast and we keep pressure washing it but it seems to break down the paint faster do you have any recommendations?

It sounds like who ever has been painting your house has been using the wrong type of paint.  I don't just mean exterior paint. You use different types of paints and stains over different types of paints. Also you use differnt...

i am moveing to slidell and would like to set up employment before i get there. i specialize in frameing foofing and sideing and have been doing construction for the past 23 years. do you have any opening or know where i might be able to find employment

To whom it may concern,

You need to put your phone number or a way of contact if you want someone to contact you back in reference to a job. Right now it is a tough market for many so keep your head up high and keep trying. As I know you have...

I was wanting to get a microwave installed above my stove about how much would that be?

Someone has to come out and look at it to tell you a exact price but I can help you get the best price. This is done by you doing all the legwork. Do you have an electrical outlet or a power source capable of running a microwave close to...

I am in the process of purchasing a home where the construction has not been fully completed, framework outside walls are complete. I am in need of information of where to go and the information for a construction loan, where and who to talk to for any and all permits that may be needed. This is my biggest problems, where and who to talk to so that I can obtain all necessary permits and loans. Thank you

Let me say you should not need a permit unless you plan on doing the work yourself. Normally when you hire someone to fix up the home they will pull the permit. As far as a loan. Normally it is best to go to banks in the area of the home you will be...

how do I get an estimate on the costs to complete the renovation of a home to make it move in ready?
Typically you call a person an ask for an estimate or you count up the materials needed and you price the materials. Then get quotes for the labor. So either you hire some one to price it to do the work or you price it out. Thanks The expert

I am looking to replace the windows in my new home. It is a 1974 brick home with single pane windows. The cooling bill is ridiculous. I would like a reliable company who does good work. Looking for vinyl, double hung windows. Wanted to go with Sears, but heard about the phenomenal cost. Any suggestions for a local reputable company. Thanks.
I don't recommend companies usually. Check out the BBB they have reputable companies in your area.
